I prefer drawing to talking.

Le Corbusier said that & it’s stayed with me for years. people talk to much, myself included, but drawing is where it’s at.

sketching, photography, digital art & painting - all mediums are a creative opportunity. it’s about the process, the exploration - the search for inspiration or a solution. being engaged, participating, instigating, encouraging. there are no wrong answers, no bad sketches, just being creative.

on a professional level, I serve as President Emeritus of the San Diego Architectural Foundation, having committed a total of 10-years on the Board of Directors include 5-years (2015-2017 & 2021-2022) as President. I’ve also served as a Director on the Gaslamp Quarter Association (2016-2017) & Co-Chaired the La Jolla Historical Society’s Young Architects Summer Camp for middle school & high school kids (2013-2014), so yeah, volunteerism is kind of an important component of my professional life for which I was recognized in 2016 in San Diego’s The Daily Transcript ‘40 Under 40’ list as well as receiving a Circulate San Diego Momentum Certificate of Recognition in 2017 from California’s Assembly, 80th District.

in 2024, I was awarded the Architectural Record Annual Napkin Sketch Contest ‘Design Professional’ winner, so that was cool.

most recently, I’m working with some incredibly talented & passionate folks to launch the Sacramento Architecture & Design Foundation, bringing together a collective 30+ years in architecture & design specific non-profit volunteerism and management experience to promote good design in Sacramento.
